PLAYGROUP (2+ TO 3+ PROGRAMME)
The Playgroup is a child’s first school experience. Children who attend Playgroup are better prepared for a preschool programme.
During Playgroup, children are encouraged to develop and grow through play. They interact, learn games, participate in arts and crafts, sing nursery rhymes with music and are introduced to exercises in practical life. Parents are required to actively participate to assure the success of the programme.
RECEPTION (3+ TO 4+ PROGRAMME)
The Reception class curriculum adopts the Neo-Montessori method of education in combination with ‘project-based learning’ and Multiple Intelligences Theory. This approach is flexible, dynamic and aims to ensure maximum development of the child. smooth transitions to top senior schools.
PREPARATORY (4+ TO 5+ PROGRAMME)
In the year before NGS primary school, each child gets involved in working with hands on material that stimulates all senses. Preparatory level exercises are carefully sequenced so that each activity has an orderly and logical process to follow. Children are thoroughly inculcated with the 12 Habits of Mind to last them a life time. Children are continuously encouraged to organize their thinking and problem solving skills.
Assessments
Assessments are designed to monitor a child’s progress at every step.
Progress within as well as outside the classroom is immaculately recorded for parents’ referral. Smooth transitions to top senior schools.
Assessments are carried out throughout the term and discussed with the parents at the end of term meetings (three times a year).
